Prologue:
On a good, boring holidays like these, I tend to have a closer relationship to the internet. Today, Twitter was down for a few hours of maintenance and I went to WordPress for a good walk. And that was when I found Plinky.
Plinky is a site for you who love to write so much, and have lots of spare time, but never know where/what to start!
I signed up for Plinky and then I made this writing below, answering Plinky’s question:
“Write a 10-line poem about your neighbor.”

“My Muslim Neighbor Throws An Aqiqah Party: Thanking God for The Gift of A Child”

Aqiqah is a great sunnah (you dont have to do it, but if you do it you’ll be rewarded!)
Aqiqah involves sacrificing a goat or lamb on behalf of the child.
It is giving thanks to Allah for the gift of a child.
The meat is distributed to the poor, or it can be used to arrange a feast to which the poor as well as relatives and friends are invited.
It is recommended that, on the day of aqiqah:
..the child is given a good name,
..his head is shaved,
..and his/her hair weighed as gold and its equivalent in money is given in charity.
If, for any reason, aqiqah cannot be done on the seventh day, it can be done on the fourteenth, twenty-first or whenever possible.
Welcome to the world, my newborn neighbor, Daniel! ♥
